Beautiful weather again.

A heavy shower in the afternoon.

Hot thundery night, slept badly, woke up in a mood at eight. Felt better once I was on my way to campus, worked 10.15-4.15 on my project. There were two impressive thunderstorms - the lab has a great view West across the Colne valley and I could see them approach. Kathryn left, saying she was scared of thunderstorms.

Really hot today, 80 F in the afternoon. Wouldn't be surprised if a few thunderstorms drifted over from France tonight.

It was extremely hot, even more so than yesterday: stayed in the cool of the computer room.

Another beautiful day after an obviously-going-to-clear cloudy start. 'The thunderstorms come in a few days' time,' I heard Michael Fish say on the radio just now.

Spot of rain and a few rumbles of thunder in the afternoon, nothing too exciting.

Train to Colchester in the morning: busy sky with promise of activity later. Had fun outpacing the clouds in the train.

Cold and showery with a thundery outbreak about 3pm.

July 3rd. Rained all day till about 6.30pm, when it cleared up and got colder.

July 4th. Back at three after a drive through showers: drove under one and came out into dazzling sunlight with heavy rain still falling.

July 5th. Massive thunderstorm 6.45-8pm, very exciting. First of the year, I think.
