Did some careful Perl programming towards building up a suite of scripts and dbs to produce a universal calendar, where I can look up say the w/c Nov 25 1974 and see what the weather was, what Doctor Who ep was on, what stamps were current etc.

Forged ahead with typing up the weather data from the newspaper archive, and completed it; I now have data from my 3rd birthday and conventional headwater of memory, to the dawn of diarising in 1982.

Walk back via Barnes was another of those 'one of the pleasantest journeys the Mouser could recall', like going to check the printout of my MSc result in Nov 1996. The sun was shining and I was walking over Hammersmith Bridge and down Castellnau thinking 'So it really is happening.'

Much colder last night. Wore to work one of the sparkly Red Herring woolly hats I picked up cheap last spring, and have been wanting to wear all year.
