Beautiful fine weather in the afternoon - had the window open.

Restarted my weather record (after reading the one I was keeping up to September 1988).

Cold, misty, damp outside. Drizzle in the evening.

Still very cold - freezing. Wish this high pressure'd piss off.

'A very anticyclonic month, particularly from the 11th on' [...]

January 31st. Still anticyclonic gloom, so haven't had a chance to look at the current sunspot which apparently is large enough to see with the naked eye - people've seen it through mist etc.

February 1st. Fog.

February 2nd. Dull, foggy day, but late on the pressure dropped, the fog cleared and the wind got up. A change in the weather at last!

February 3rd. Weather had completely changed when I woke up. Even the Sun came out.

Very cold, East wind. Brief, glorious burst of sunlight through the thick grey clouds just after 2pm.

Started drizzling in the afternoon.

Beautiful clear morning.

Things still very slow; grey weather again. But about 4pm the weather suddenly brightened up, as predicted on the forecast at dinner-time. Felt better, especially after seeing the waxing gibbous moon about 5.30.

Got very depressed about 8pm, went for a walk: clear and cold; was cheered by the fat crescent Moon.

In the evening went out for a walk in very cold fine drizzle. Not very inspiring!

In the evening very cold, calm, clear, frost on the pavements.

Mild in the morning, later very cold - strong North wind.

Good weather, clear and fine till about 9.30pm. Quite cold.
