Woke up to find an unexpected 1/2" of snow on the ground. Walked into town to appreciate the wintry scene.

December 29th. A few flakes of snow fell in the morning. Bleak, grey, dark afternoon.

December 30th. A few flakes of snow; intensified a bit later, but not much was lying.

Walked home through -4 C full moon cold.

Nasty headache this morning. Weather cold and bright, lovely but not ideal for being hung over with.

Damp and almost warm in the morning, cold and dry by lunchtime.

Wonderful clear night, saw 5 meteors, one very bright. Sirius clear - could just see the 7th Pleiad (16 Tauri), at mag. 6 - no mean feat.

Weather even colder.

Grey, dark, drizzly, gloomy day.

Cold, wet, windy morning.

Gloomy, drizzly morning enlivened by a sense of purpose.
