Lovely morning: complete change in the weather. Got the Met Office cloud observer's book and a brass weather forecaster, a handy little device, based on pressure, trend and wind direction. Made some notes on the algorithm it uses.

May 1994

May 7th. Very humid, constant rain, very warm.

May 8th. Vertically-developed cumuli all day but only a shower and a rumble of thunder in the afternoon.

May 12th. Let us mourn a fine man this day. John Smith 1938-1994.

And back to mundane things. Warm, cloudy, calm, humid, heavy rain in the morning.

May 17th. Wet and dismal, cold too.

May 18th. Dry but unseasonably cold.

May 21st. Constant rain, heavy at times.

May 22nd. Better weather, clearing in the morning a bit fuzzily and then 'dirty' overcast in the afternoon.
