Duly went to the Co-op. One of those calm spring days with bright grey sky and light green leaves. I walked very slowly across the park, and everything looked new. On the way back had a quick sit down on one of the benches.

Got some photos of the view from the hospital window once the sun had gone behind a tree.

Picked up at 2pm, home via London Colney. Quite pleasant talk. A strange journey though! with sun in yellow-grey bright sky, like the fairground scene in The Girl Who Was Death.

Beautiful weather in the morning, but apparently very cold outside.

EASTER MONDAY.

It rained during the night, which was a restful sound.

Couple of sun-breaks in the afternoon, hurried to look at the sun. Also went and peered boldly out into the hospital corridor. Can't see much, but it's more than I can see inside the room. Also sat with door open for quite a while.

Up at five and took a fine picture of the cloud-wracked Moon between two of the tall buildings to the west, later another of the sunrise on the other side.

There's something about these bright spring mornings that I associate with momentous events - probably from my first day at school, and the elections.

Very pleasant walk to Wimbledon, over the River Wandle and up and down hills, a bright green and blue and white day with a strong cool North breeze.

This time (5.35pm) tomorrow I may over the line. I can't quite see the sun from the window, but it is westering away to the right. It will soon be sunset and, all things being equal, for the last time the White Knight will sing his farewell song.
