Quite a good day really, though damp and foggy.
November 24th. Calm, quiet, grey again.
November 25th. Same weather again.
November 26th. No change in the weather - more anticyclonic gloom.
November 27th. Still no weather change, except a bit colder.
November 28th. Yet again no weather change, though the sun broke through in the afternoon.
November 29th. Weather still the same but a bit colder.
November 30th. Still no weather change but still cold.
'Very dry in the second half, but dull in the south.' [...]

Shocking weather - heavy rain. Ventured out in the morning but didn't go any further than the post office because of the rain. Decided to venture out at 2pm as the rain seemed to've stopped; having got to Sainsbury's, I came out and it began to piss down. That always happens when it's too rainy to go out in the morning.

September 1994
First day of Autumn; very damp with lots of rain.
September 14th. It was a dark rainy morning.
September 15th. Up at 9am for The Flintstones to another dark and rainy morning. Very cold - had to put a jumper on for the first time this season.
September 16th. Very cold with a N.W. wind.
September 17th. Very cold night last night.
September 19th. So I hope this depression lifts soon (could it be all the rain?)
as I'm finding it hard to look forward to anything.
September 26th. A dark damp morning.
'Cool, dull, and wet. Particularly heavy rain in the Midlands on the 14-15th.' [...]

Very hot but a strongish cooling breeze. The barometer fell
15 or 20 mb during the day despite the hot weather and sunshine (lots of cirrocumulus though) and thunder
reached Wimbledon at 7 pm, with noticeable medium-wave hissing at 7.30.
By 8 pm it was clear something was going to happen, there were rumbles at 8.30 and from 8.45 or 9pm to 9.40 or so a
huge thunderstorm raged, passing right over the house. There were very strong downdraught gusts (65 mph according to
a later severe weather warning), very heavy rain and prolonged flashes of lightning and crashes of thunder.
'Violent thunderstorms on the 24th over the southeast as a cold front moved east. Lightning damage and death.' [...]
