Cold and raining - miserable day.

Heavy frost in the morning.

Very pleasant drive to Cambridge through sun/mist winter day.

Weather rather better with some sun.

Out at five to the nativity service. Windy and pissing down with rain. Rev Jane was there, doing the narration. Afterwards she offered me a lift to the manse. As it was only 6.05 I protested that this would be an imposition on them since I wouldn't have to leave till 7.45. So came back home for tea (salad and Stilton). Off again at seven to the manse, got absolutely soaked. Jane said she wished she'd insisted on bringing me round earlier when she saw the weather, I said yes, I'd regretted my politeness.

Even colder today, icy wind. Dusting of snow overnight, wet snow in the morning.

Beautiful clear golden morning, cold though. But later it got so dark and dismal that it seemed cosy inside - heavy cold rain.

Into town in heavy rain. Had to shelter under C&A's façade while it was particularly heavy.
