Snow had fallen overnight.

Even colder today. Snowed all day. Cleaned the ice, snow and icicles off the car to drive home - the snow stopped after about 5 miles.

Walking to the station in a bright hazy morning, I had an unaccountable feeling the day held promise. In the evening saw Venus like a diamond 8° from a very thin silver New Moon.

Dank, dark morning.

No trains due to the fog.

The Sun shone! Felt much better.

Light drizzle at 8.30pm, which had changed into a freezing downpour by nine.

Weather still dark, damp and horrible. Don't think the Sun's come out since last Friday.
