The weather drifting up from the East got stormier and stormier until, about 2.30, the heavens opened. Saw a brilliant sparkling purple fork of lightning. Afterwards with the storm moving West the light was reflecting off dazzling white cumulus in the East, making everything look like morning.

Clear, hot, windy day without the oppressive humidity we've had recently.

June 13th. Beautiful day, very hot and clear.

June 14th. Extremely hot - not humid though, but with a strong warm Westerly wind.

June 15th. Beautiful day, very hot and clear, light westerly breeze.

June 28th. Personally, since seeing her round his those two times, I don't think anything is going on. Mind you, who knows what'll've happened at Glastonbury, what with the weather so hot, and all?

June 29th. Fiendishly hot all day.

One roll of thunder during the night (18 seconds) and lots of rain. Dull, grey, warm day.

Cold and windy this evening (down to 62° in here after last week's 78° evenings), but at least it's stopped raining, which it did till mid-afternoon. All the vegetation looks better for it though.

Went out on my bike for a short ride - too hot and humid, as it was last night, for any serious exertion.
