Woke up to wind and rain, meaning one of my favourite things, a wet Saturday when I don't have to go out. And I'd far-sightedly bought an onion yesterday so I was able to make risotto for lunch.

Off to Hay at 7.15. Stopped at Membury services, which were shrouded in fog like all the other high places I went through. 25-minute slowdown at Birdlip.

A gentle walk took me to the clinic by 10.40. Very misty and foggy day - I expect there really was fog on Barnes Common!

This time my walk back was particularly contemplative. The Sun was shining through the mist as I went through Fulham Palace Road, Hammersmith Bridge, Castelnau, Barnes, Mortlake and Richmond. Stopped for a sit down at Barnes Green where the pond is.

At car, took new route back to the A316 via Twickenham, very pleasant 'dusty' sunlight, reminding me of trips to London in the 70s to see my aunt and uncle.

Alternation of fog and bright sunshine all day, wherever I was, all the way to Bracknell.
