Snow in the evening.

29th. The snow that fell on Boxing Day evening is still lying - very cold, about -5 C, ever since then, though it warmed up to -1 C this afternoon.

Started snowing again at 8am. In the afternoon the snow had become thick and soft, and people on campus were having snowball fights and building snowmen.

Walked home along the footpath over the fields - nearly a white-out. It was like the Zero Room, I expected to come out purged.'

Snow shower about 9.10; walked past a bloke who said 'Winter's begun eh?' More snow in the morning, then sunshine.

More snow at twelve, then about three it started again and didn't stop till about seven. The wind was driving copious snow.
