Lovely Spring
weather: sun, fluffy clouds etc but a bit cold.
In the evening put an embargo on revision and walked down the valley. That lovely May evening light is in full flow. In the park to the north I looked out west over the ranked receding countryside. The light was coming in under the branches and clothing the slope down to the river in golden haze. Looking back, the horse-chestnuts were in bloom and utterly beautiful in the light against the deep blue sky. It's worth having lived through all that trouble to see that kind of thing.
Later saw the New Moon, Venus and the Sun in the sky all together.
I saw an interesting thing as the sun set: it was split up into sparks by tree branches and the last one (the highest)
suddenly turned deep red, then green and finally vivid dark blue. Beautiful and very impressive. I've never seen it
before.
