Warmer today, but damp horrible weather really. After the rain stopped, at 4pm it was really light, despite the overcast. I wondered for a moment if I hadn't left work an hour early by mistake. A bit later the sky turned bright pink, the way it sometimes does at sunset when it's overcast.

Afterwards she said I needn't make another appointment today, and could just arrange future sessions as required. In the evening home via the doctor's and the chemist in town to get my prescription. Loathe that walk, and it was particularly irksome with the cold North wind and spatters of rain, but it went well.

Really wet in the morning, one of the wettest walks to work I've ever had, and quite windy too. The path across the park was more like a stream!
I prepared really well though, I put dry clothes, and my handbag, in double plastic bags in my big rucksack, and walked to work in my jogging trousers. Had to wring them out when I got there, but everything else was nice and dry. After changing I was fine, and my external stuff dried off fine. NB next time to take a small towel for my legs.

TWELFTH NIGHT. Interesting weather in the morning with fog coming up quite suddenly at 8.15am.

Have been transcribing the 'Weather Diaries' that I kept in scribbling diary books from 1985 to 1988. (I've mentioned this before, haven't I?) It's very interesting, because I can tie in the observations to the main diary. For instance one night, at the end of Thursday, there's an '0000 (Fri)' entry, and the main diary has me coming back from an evening at S's at 12.05am. (Ah, August 1986).

Should point out that these Weather Diaries are not to be confused with my Weather Diaries blog, which I'm compiling as I type up the main diaries.

Really unpleasant cold, windy, rainy weather. Didn't really want to go into town, but was obliged to really, and it would've been a waste of my early brunch. Luckily the wind was behind me going there, or blowing from 120° left at least, so I arrived in town in presentable shape, even if I did then get soaked coming back. Luckily I'd brought a woolly hat to wear under my hood for the return journey, which proved to be just the thing.
