Another day with dark altostratus, which (again) oddly the sun was able to penetrate all day. Though this time there were showers about 5pm.

Got to Warwick at 4.30. Stopped for a quick walk round the park in the pleasant, hazy sunshine. Thought how happy I was compared to the last time I was walking round there, when I was just beginning hoping that I could go forward. Can that have been last spring?

Interesting sky today, sun through altostratus, but all day. Usually it thickens till the sun vanishes, but not today. Indeed it got thinner in the afternoon and then reverted to how it had been.

The walk back had to be taken slowly because of the extra distance. But it was one of those pleasant journeys I occasionally have. I was in no hurry, it was warm with a hazy sun, it was Saturday and a wine night, so it was easy to enjoy it.

Beautiful weather, not a cloud in the sky all day. Wouldn't have been out of place as a day in May.

In the afternoon got out in the garden: dug potato beds over, mowed lawns. Saw a butterfly drying its wings on the path.
