Beautiful weather: cloudless, small fair-weather Cu, large storybook Cu and back to cloudless again after a spring-like evening.

Cold whenever the Sun went in though. But there's nothing like a brisk walk on a cold, sunny, breezy day with white fluffy clouds, and an appetite, and lunch ready when you arrive.

Very windy last night, to that degree where there are draughts in rooms which don't usually have them.

Walking back, weather seemed to be almost exactly like it was last week, huge shower clouds with virgae. But then that's what it's been like this winter; the weather has been quite incredible. I think I first got the idea that the climate had gone wrong about June 1997, when we had all that rain: I'd been familiar with the theory of warming for at least a decade, but had not perceived any possible effects till then.

Really wet morning. Very black clouds about 4.30pm but the subsequent heavy shower didn't really live up to the billing. Quite a stormy sky still now about 6pm - depression after depression rolling in off the Atlantic this winter, it's quite remarkable.

February first, Boot... Beautiful weather though, warm - the butter had got soft in the evening.

Walking earlier the low sun was dazzling and quite warm, but a cold gale was blowing in my face, creating a strange combined impression of being at the seaside in summer.
