Wednesday, December 31, 2003

Fine and cold most of the day.

Tuesday, December 30, 2003

Miserable wet dark weather again.

Monday, December 29, 2003

Dark, rainy day.

Sunday, December 28, 2003

Fine and cold.
Quick trip to Clacton in the afternoon - strolled along the far end of the promenade. New Moon, setting sun, huge sky and sea. So good to get a bit of space around me.

Saturday, December 27, 2003

Cold and bright today.

Friday, December 26, 2003

Horrible dark, rainy day.

Monday, December 22, 2003

A very small amount of snow last night, and very cold indeed today with an icy North-west wind.

Sunday, December 21, 2003

Cold, clear and very windy.

Thursday, December 18, 2003

Clear and cold again.

Wednesday, December 17, 2003

Fine, cold walking weather, and very clear.

Tuesday, December 16, 2003

Clear and cold again, clouding over and getting a bit warmer.

Monday, December 15, 2003

Bright, cold day with icy North wind. Very invigorating.

Saturday, December 13, 2003

Warmer, but grey and raining in the morning.

Friday, December 12, 2003

Damp grey day.

Thursday, December 11, 2003

Dark and raining hard in the morning.

Wednesday, December 10, 2003

Interestingly cold and foggy today.

Tuesday, December 09, 2003

Another bright cold day.

Monday, December 08, 2003

Bright, cold, frosty morning: later clouded over to make an excitingly dark cold winter afternoon with an icy wind. Felt a bit down, despite the bright weather.

Sunday, December 07, 2003

A bright, cold day, ideal for a short stroll in the morning.

Saturday, December 06, 2003

Cold, dull weather.

Thursday, December 04, 2003

Rather good weather - cold, dry, grey and windy.

Tuesday, December 02, 2003

Dark and cold again.

Monday, December 01, 2003

Dark, grey, cold, rainy day. Very depressing.

Saturday, November 29, 2003

Looked like a dark, dry grey day with cold wind - the sort that's enjoyable if you're well wrapped up. Unfortunately, as I walked to town to do my first bout of Christmas shopping, it began raining.

Friday, November 28, 2003

Another bright frosty morning.

Thursday, November 27, 2003

Beautiful clear, cold, bright day.

Wednesday, November 26, 2003

Dark and rainy and windy in the morning. It began to clear at lunchtime, and by 1330 I was looking at a fine panorama from the top floor - dark clouds to left and right, fair-weather clouds above, blue sky elsewhere.

Monday, November 24, 2003

Stopped raining at last.

Sunday, November 23, 2003

Rained all day again.

Saturday, November 22, 2003

Depressing weather (static warm front) with gloom and rain all day.

Thursday, November 20, 2003

Some welcome sun-breaks around lunchtime, but another dull day otherwise, with drizzle in the morning.

Wednesday, November 19, 2003

Very warm for the time of year, also very calm. Almost unsettling in combination.

Tuesday, November 18, 2003

Rather warmer than I expected today. Fine view at lunchtime SW over the town, under grey stratoculumus - very pleasant weather if you're somewhere warm with something interesting to do.

Monday, November 17, 2003

Rotten weather - penetrating drizzle all day after 10 am-ish.

Friday, November 14, 2003

Bright, windy day, becoming enjoyably windy by the evening. Nothing like a dark, dry, windy night, when you're somewhere warm.

Wednesday, November 12, 2003

Another dull day; rained hard till the afternoon, then cleared. Took a whole binful of recycling paper to the dump in the rain.

Tuesday, November 11, 2003

Dull grey day with cold North wind and thin mist.

Saturday, November 08, 2003

Rather pleasant cold, dark grey day. Don't know why I found that pleasant, but I did.

Friday, November 07, 2003

Bright, cold, almost cloudless.

Thursday, November 06, 2003

Bright and cold again.

Wednesday, November 05, 2003

Bright, cold day, rather like when me and S. went to Ilkley Moor last year.

Sunday, November 02, 2003

Confined to quarters all day with streaming cold, but weather seemed to be rain in the morning and clear in the afternoon, possibly a cold front situation.

Thursday, October 30, 2003

Raining quite hard in the evening.

Wednesday, October 29, 2003

At 5pm the rain which'd been going on all day had cleared, and I was able to greet the New Moon on my walk home.

Tuesday, October 28, 2003

Cold and clear.

Sunday, October 26, 2003

Bright cold day with showers.

Friday, October 24, 2003

Much colder, with more showers, and very cold clear evening.

Thursday, October 23, 2003

Excellent weather, cold, bright and showery.

Wednesday, October 22, 2003

Cold and raining in the morning but walked to work because I hate the extra traffic you get when it rains.

Tuesday, October 21, 2003

Even colder today.

Monday, October 20, 2003

Cold, with strong East wind. Glad I put the heating on yesterday.

Saturday, October 18, 2003

Cold and bright again.

Friday, October 17, 2003

I seem to be quite over the autumnal anxiety I was having a couple of weeks back. Perhaps autumn is just something I need time to accept.

Thursday, October 16, 2003

Another bright, hard, cold, windy autumn day.

Wednesday, October 15, 2003

East wind again, really rather cold, but at lunchtime a sky so blue and clear you could almost see space behind it.

Tuesday, October 14, 2003

Cold East wind today, quite strong.

Saturday, October 11, 2003

Bright, hard autumn day, very clear, could still have been summer if you kept a jacket on.

In the evening, beautiful white full moon in clear night sky.

Friday, October 10, 2003

Still rather mild, with excellent dark grey stratocumulus.

Wednesday, October 08, 2003

Quite windy, mostly dry, with fast-moving dark grey stratocumulus. Cold in the morning but turned milder and damper later.

At sunset, beautiful violet light, from a strip of clear sky right at the horizon, shone up under the clouds and illuminated the underside of the canopy.

Have been thinking - what if the sky is a vast, ever-changing message which we unconsciously read: like when you see a word without consciously noticing the letter shapes, the picture is clear, we see the elements, but the meaning goes into our subconscious.

Tuesday, October 07, 2003

Wet, windy morning, eventually clearing to hard blue sky and white clouds. You could just have taken it for summer at lunchtime.

Monday, October 06, 2003

Frodo on Weathertop - interestingly windy day.

Sunday, October 05, 2003

Very bright, windy and cold. Appropriately, had a headache - it was the kind of weather that I associate with hangovers in the Dark Years.

Monday, September 29, 2003

Cool, bright day, with mist in the morning.

Friday, September 26, 2003

Really quite autumnal with grey clouds, and rain in the evening.

Thursday, September 25, 2003

Cold and bright again.

Wednesday, September 24, 2003

Beautiful cold bright day. Walking round the lake during the morning, it could still have been summer if you ignored those trees that had gone yellow.

Tuesday, September 23, 2003

Really rather cool and bright, with North wind, blue sky and big white cumuli.

Monday, September 22, 2003

Walked home through heavy, cold rain. Was very glad indeed to come back to a warm, dry house. And to find letter saying I'll be on genuine green electricity from Oct 9th.

Sunday, September 21, 2003

Again golden, but sort of softer and cooler, more autumnal.

Friday, September 19, 2003

Another beautiful golden day.

Wednesday, September 17, 2003

Warmer and more golden even than yesterday.

Sunday, September 14, 2003

Another golden day.

Friday, September 05, 2003

Again, weather like yesterday. Very mellow.

Thursday, September 04, 2003

Again clear, sunny, pleasantly warm, blue and green and gold among the poplars in the afternoon.

Wednesday, September 03, 2003

Pleasantly warm, but with an exciting threat of autumn behind it all. Like the Roman Empire circa AD 200.

Tuesday, September 02, 2003

Definite autumnal feeling today: not so much the weather, more a psychological urge to stay in and play D&D by myself.

Monday, September 01, 2003

Again bright, cool, clear, with big cumuli later. Always that fin de siècle Septembral feeling at the back of the picture.

Sunday, August 31, 2003

Beautiful cool, clear, bright morning for the last day of Summer.

Saturday, August 30, 2003

Cool, bright morning with big cumuli.

Friday, August 29, 2003

Dull day, clouds threatening enough to be interesting though.

Thursday, August 28, 2003

It came on to rain in the afternoon, but went out anyway. Rather enjoyable walk in the rain.

Friday, August 22, 2003

Another dull day, but warm and with a kind of 'cosy' atmosphere - probably long weekend anticipation.

Thursday, August 21, 2003

Sky grey and covered with stratocumulus - seemed a truly strange sight after weeks of blue skies.

Wednesday, August 20, 2003

Fine weather, not too hot, just a hint of autumn round the edges of things. Wonderful clear sunset and twilight. I wish summer could go on for another month.

Saturday, August 16, 2003

Another sunny, not-too-hot day. In the evening detected perhaps an autumnal slant to the sunlight?

Thursday, August 14, 2003

Lovely weather, much cooler (NW airstream) and clearer. By comparison with the last week or so, seemed like a foretaste of bright autumn weather.

Monday, August 11, 2003

Thunderstorm at 5am and another at 8.30. Very strange to glimpse, through gaps in the lower cloud, high-piled cumulonimbus drifting in at 8 am.

Sunday, August 10, 2003

Very hot indeed: UK record broken at Heathrow, then Gravesend, latter 101° F.

Cooled down late in the afternoon with appearance of clouds: altocumulus castellanus at first, then more cumulonimboid clouds above a lower layer, with indeed a couple of rumbles of thunder, but nothing more so far.

Saturday, August 09, 2003

Really hot today. Was in town early, and even as I walked home at noon it was too hot to hurry.

Friday, August 08, 2003

Perhaps not quite so hot, but still impressively hazy.

Wednesday, August 06, 2003

Really rather too hot today, though sky an impressive hazy blue, and in the evening the closest approach to a flat calm I've seen.

Monday, August 04, 2003

Very hot weather, and apparently set to get hotter.

Sunday, August 03, 2003

Good weather again.

Saturday, August 02, 2003

Weather lovely. Went out for walk round block about 4pm just to appreciate it.

Friday, August 01, 2003

Weather didn't suit the date: light rain, dull, rain still quietly persistent on my way home.

Wednesday, July 30, 2003

Very dark clouds rolled up about 4.50pm and it began to absolutely piss down as I walked home. Glad I started keeping that spare brolly in the office. Actually I still got soaked from the knees down, it was raining so hard, but it makes a big difference when your head's dry. Once I'd got going, it was very pleasant to walk through the rain, see the gutters in full spate and huge puddles everywhere.

Tuesday, July 29, 2003

Wet, dull day with a gleam or two of sunshine, and fairly strong wind.

Monday, July 28, 2003

Lovely weather in the morning, interestingly windy with big clouds later.

Sunday, July 27, 2003

Impressive shower early in the evening.

Saturday, July 26, 2003

Rather dull weather, impressive rain in the evening.

Friday, July 25, 2003

Wind and rain.

Thursday, July 24, 2003

Cooler, fresher weather with some big cumuli.

Monday, July 21, 2003

Off to Bluewater about eleven. Lovely day, hot with clean-lined white clouds. They massed up a bit in the afternoon but it didn't rain.

Sunday, July 20, 2003

Lots of thunder, lightning and rain overnight. Then today cooler, breezy and sunny.

Thursday, July 17, 2003

Cooler and quite windy today.

Wednesday, July 16, 2003

Excellent thunderstorm about 5pm. Was able to do that 'sit inside looking out of the window at the rain' thing I so enjoy.

Tuesday, July 15, 2003

Just as hot, but with a lot of cirrus.

Monday, July 14, 2003

Weather so flawless today that I abandoned all thoughts of Ikea and went to Felixstowe. Hot, utterly cloudless, strong sea breeze. Quite lovely.

Home via Stoke by Nayland. Countryside as lovely as the seaside, with rustling wheat fields, dappled shadows etc.

Now a bright full Moon riding above the quiet town. Kind of benevolent. Chimes with the Luna Lovegood style dreamy goodwill I've been feeling since Saturday.

Sunday, July 13, 2003

Flawless weather, hardly a speck of cloud in the intensely blue sky all day. Sun shining very powerfully - I took coffee on the doorstep, and my arm was starting to burn by the time I'd finished drinking it.

Sunset so clear, nothing to describe except the gradation of colour in the sky, orange to yellow to greenish to dark blue to black. Capella shining in North about 11pm, a reminder that, although Summer is in its youthful prime, the year does keep on turning.

Saturday, July 12, 2003

Absolutely gorgeous weather - sun beating down all day from a deep blue sky. Clouds got fewer and fewer, till by the evening there were just a few very thin red strips of cloud against a sky like a deep pool of clear water.

In the evening gazed at yellow full moon above the opposite side of the river valley, shining down on the quiet town. Perfect end to a perfect day.

Thursday, July 10, 2003

Extremely hot today.

Wednesday, July 09, 2003

Very hot today - had to take my jacket off about 7 minutes into my walk to work.

Saturday, July 05, 2003

Unpleasant weather. Quite chilly in the morning again. All day sky grey with an almost wintry appearance.

Friday, July 04, 2003

Grey start, sun came gorgeously out in the afternoon to change the mood. And in the evening the low sun turned archipelagoes of altocumulus orange against the blue. An hour later the West was a beautiful clear, pale lavender - higher up the New Moon slipped in and out of low dark small clouds.

Wednesday, July 02, 2003

Rediscovered how pleasant it is to walk in the rain with an umbrella - when it isn't windy.

Tuesday, July 01, 2003

Was sitting in the library at lunchtime, facing a vast view to the West. Dark clouds and darker pannus hurrying below them above the pylons and factories. It started raining - the rain advanced towards me so successive folds of the landscape faded behind silver curtains. When it reached campus a young woman ran for cover with girlish abandon. Her soberer friend dashed under a convenient tree and put up her umbrella.

Monday, June 30, 2003

Horrible weather - grey, hot, raining in the morning and right up till lunchtime. (Just remembered June 1997 when it seemed to rain every day. Always see myself in Garden Lane, walking to the forex place with my umbrella).

Friday, June 27, 2003

Think the weather got fed up with me taking it for granted. Grey, hot and humid today with a little rain in the evening (and that rain-after-dry-spell scent in the air).

Thursday, June 26, 2003

More gorgeous weather. I do like these long sunny evenings. I open windows and the front door, and the flat becomes light and airy.

Wednesday, June 25, 2003

Lovely weather early in the morning, then clouded over, then cleared again.

Tuesday, June 24, 2003

Gorgeous weather again.

Monday, June 23, 2003

Horrible grey humid start. Cleared up nicely later though.

Sunday, June 22, 2003

Greyer, cooler day, with rain at times. Stayed in and read Order of the Phoenix.

Friday, June 20, 2003

Gorgeous weather, from hot blue morning to fleecy-clouded noon to clear, rose and jade evening.

Tuesday, June 17, 2003

Hot, hazy weather with thunder in the afternoon and evening. Rather unpleasant.

Monday, June 16, 2003

Rather too hot today. Wind in S.E. Woke up at 4 am feeling altogether too warm, but got back to sleep and dreamt I was Buffy's trusted friend.

Sunday, June 15, 2003

Rather cloudier than yesterday, but hotter. Still just about pleasant though.

Saturday, June 14, 2003

Absolutely perfect weather. Very pleasant afternoon with triangular sandwiches, coffee and sitting on the doorstep in the sun.

Beautiful round yellow moon again.

Friday, June 13, 2003

Gorgeous weather. Had to take my jacket off when I'd only got as far as Tescos. Usually I'm in Limes Road before that happens. At lunchtime sat under the oak tree again and just chilled out, watching the leaves on the trees round the lake wave in the breeze.

Beautiful evening too, with round yellow moon.

Thursday, June 12, 2003

Lovely afternoon and evening weather. Read new Viz under big oak tree at lunchtime. Quite idyllic.

Wednesday, June 11, 2003

Lovely evening: fine at 6.30 and could have been 4pm, still mostly light at 9.30.

Tuesday, June 10, 2003

Cloudy, cool start, turning fine.

Sunday, June 08, 2003

Rather cool, grey day at first, with showers, but cleared up for a sunny afternoon and evening.

Moved all my net curtains to half the height of the window, so I can see the sky and distance and still not be seen from outside unless I go right up to the window. Amazing difference. Sky views are important to me, it seems.

Monday, June 02, 2003

Pissing down with rain in the morning. Traffic dreadful. Next time I'm walking in with a change of clothes. Heavy, humid weather the rest of the day.

Sunday, June 01, 2003

Weather turned grey and wet, but still very warm.

Saturday, May 31, 2003

Gorgeous weather again. If anything too hot.

Friday, May 30, 2003

Really gorgeous weather today. In the evening that pleasant smell you get in the cooler evening of a hot day.

Tuesday, May 27, 2003

Beautiful weather. Felt as if I'd fallen into an idyllic nostalgia film: deep blue sky, big white clouds, plump green trees, lush grass. Or perhaps onto some halcyon Star Trek planet, except that I didn't stumble on any deadly secrets.

Tuesday, May 20, 2003

Windy. Colder again. They finally put the heating back on at work - I was wearing two T-shirts, a shirt, a jumper and a blanket against the cold.

Saturday, May 17, 2003

Rainy day.

Wednesday, May 14, 2003

Took blanket to work with me today, after it was so cold yesterday.

Tuesday, May 13, 2003

Weather very dramatic today with giant cumulonimbus anvillatus, thunder and hail. I'd forgotten May is a good thunder season.

Saturday, May 10, 2003

Big-white-clouds morning.

Tuesday, May 06, 2003

Gorgeous weather again. Quite flawless first thing, with little cumulus cells appearing mid-morning.

Sunday, May 04, 2003

Gorgeous weather.

Friday, May 02, 2003

Rainy.

Thursday, May 01, 2003

Great cold-front showers rolling in from the West again all day.

Wednesday, April 30, 2003

Walking home, cold-front rain passed leaving sunshine, green leaves and a rainbow.

Tuesday, April 29, 2003

Lovely day though, windy and warm with blue sky and big white cumuli.

Monday, April 28, 2003

Rainy day, with some interesting strong wind and fast-moving grey skies.

Friday, April 25, 2003

Rain, patchy at first, constant in the evening. Everything suddenly looking fresh light green after the dry spell.

Thursday, April 24, 2003

Still warm, but hazy.

Wednesday, April 23, 2003

Weather beautiful again.

Friday, April 18, 2003

Gorgeous weather again.

Wednesday, April 16, 2003

Beautiful lavender evening sky with huge coppery full Moon.

Tuesday, April 15, 2003

Day of strong hazy sunshine, then a beautiful evening with a full moon later.

Sunday, April 13, 2003

Weather's warmed right up this weekend.

Saturday, April 12, 2003

Beautiful sunny day with blossom on the bushes on the other side of the railway cutting. Beautiful but still chilly.

Wednesday, April 09, 2003

Bright, sunny, yet colder than yesterday again.

Tuesday, April 08, 2003

Again bright and sunny, but even colder.

Monday, April 07, 2003

Bright and clear, but really much too cold.

Sunday, April 06, 2003

Cloudy in the morning but cleared after lunch for 'late afternoon in blue and gold'.

Thursday, April 03, 2003

Bright, clear and cold.

Wednesday, April 02, 2003

Weather bright, with initially clear sky, then cumulus cells, then fluffy cumuli, but very cold with strong North wind.

Tuesday, April 01, 2003

Exciting post-cold-front showers in the afternoon. Trees in leaf and blossom, Spring really under way.

Monday, March 31, 2003

Yet again, beautiful weather. We've had over 2 weeks of this.

Saturday, March 29, 2003

Grey 'stay in' sort of day.

Friday, March 28, 2003

Colder today. Green leaves on the hedges.

Thursday, March 27, 2003

Beautiful weather. Very dry though, a lot of dust blowing about.

Wednesday, March 26, 2003

Pearly sky today but still warm.

Tuesday, March 25, 2003

Weather warm and clear yet again.

Monday, March 24, 2003

Beautiful weather again - really quite warm. Felt suffused by vernal gratitude at lunchtime.

Sunday, March 23, 2003

Beautiful weather, warmer too.

Saturday, March 22, 2003

Duly up at 8.55 am - earlier than I have on a Saturday for a long time - to a beautiful but chilly day.

Friday, March 21, 2003

Cloudy and cold today.

Wednesday, March 19, 2003

Driving back through the countryside, everything all pale rose post-sunset glow: got back into town, and mist comes creeping over the ground like the onset of Melekril in Maia.

Tuesday, March 18, 2003

Bright sunny weather again, but colder. Hazy afternoon.

Friday, March 14, 2003

Felt expansive and confident. Don't know what brought that on: might've been the beautiful, cloudless (if cold) weather.

Saturday, March 08, 2003

Grey and windy.

Friday, March 07, 2003

Weather grey, getting dark and very wet in the afternoon - ideal weather for finishing the filing cabinet purge. Suddenly cleared about 5pm to a clear blue/yellow/grey evening, with a New Moon.

Thursday, March 06, 2003

Lovely bright, warm sunny weather: opened the curtains to find that the council had cleared away almost all the litter in the street.

Wednesday, March 05, 2003

Dry, grey day with that feeling of having 'potential'. In the afternoon the grey clouds had yellow-grey sunbreaks, bringing back those elusive childhood memories of spring afternoons. My head still a strange place.

Tuesday, March 04, 2003

Rain in the morning.

Saturday, March 01, 2003

Lot of rain today.

Friday, February 28, 2003

Last day of winter. Sunny first thing, thick mist about 0930, rain and wind later.

Saturday, February 22, 2003

Fog in the morning, turning to Sun shining strongly through haze. This somehow encouraged me to continue the recent tendency to use Saturday as a day for recovering from the week rather than initiating new activities.

Friday, February 21, 2003

Cold, but very clear, and sun very strong. Definite hints of Spring. I think this is the opposite of the days around August 20th, when the summer sunlight takes on an autumnal slant.

Thursday, February 20, 2003

A bit warmer today.

Wednesday, February 19, 2003

Beautiful bright cold day.

Thursday, February 13, 2003

Sun came out! But the clear sky made it very cold indeed.

Wednesday, February 12, 2003

Still grey, and rather cold. Could really do with the Sun coming out.

Tuesday, February 11, 2003

Another grey, rainy day.

Monday, February 10, 2003

Started off very mild, got colder but was very moist. Rather pleasant compared to the dry, bitter cold we had a couple of weeks back.

Thursday, February 06, 2003

Weather very cold again.

Wednesday, February 05, 2003

Another cold, clear, bright day.

In the evening was looking at a wonderful New Moon, when a plane flew 'above' the Moon; and its vapour trail - lit red by the just-set Sun - drifted 'down' so that the tail end just drifted across the crescent as the trail dissipated.

Tuesday, February 04, 2003

Very cold again, snow at lunchtime.

Monday, February 03, 2003

Mostly clear and sunny, and very cold, though the blue sky, white clouds and green grass at lunchtime did hint at the approach of spring.

Sunday, February 02, 2003

Thunderstorm in the afternoon. I know in theory that they can happen in the winter, but never experienced one.

Friday, January 31, 2003

Very cold night, about an inch of snow. Roads covered in ice. Decided to walk to work. Good idea - on way saw cars sliding and skidding and getting stuck on hills. Everyone had a tale to tell when they eventually arrived.

Found myself very tired when I got home, what with the cold and clomping round all day in big boots.

My fave R5 presenter, Peter Allen, was one of the people who got stuck on the way home last night. He was phoning reports in to the station. When Drive started again at 4pm, he was doing it from Cambridgeshire, where he still was.

Thursday, January 30, 2003

Very cold. Heavy snow in the morning and at lunchtime and in the evening, but tending to melt each time. Did however manage to recreate the childish wonder of standing by the window and looking up, seeing the white sky with the snowflakes coming down dark against it. Like bees, I thought that snowy morning in 1975.

Wednesday, January 29, 2003

Much colder - more squally rain and a strong, very cold North wind. Cleared later.

Hurrying home from meeting at 9.30pm, Sirius and ?Jupiter very bright in the clear dry air. There's something about very cold, windy, dry nights that gets me excited - reminds me of the 'dawn of time'. I have such happy recollections of this period (1973 to 1975).

Tuesday, January 28, 2003

Cold and very windy, with squally showers at times.

Saturday, January 25, 2003

Sort of damp and cold and bright. Saw a protest against war on Iraq by the war memorial. It's odd how I was in favour of the 1991 war (till they massacred all those people fleeing back to Baghdad), but have been dead against this one ever since it became apparent that Bush was going to use the World Trade Centre attacks as an excuse for it. Bastard.

Anyway, got soaked in freezing cold rain but did see a beautiful bright, low double rainbow behind the protestors.

Friday, January 24, 2003

Cool, bright, frosty.

Tuesday, January 21, 2003

Another wet day.

Monday, January 20, 2003

Windy, rainy weather, quite warm comparatively though.

Sunday, January 19, 2003

Couldn't sleep at 4am, got up and read the Guide To The Names In The Lord Of The Rings. Very soothing - Tolkien's petulant prose combined with rain on the roof.

Friday, January 17, 2003

Dark, grey, invigoratingly windy weather.

Thursday, January 16, 2003

Beautiful clear sunrise (blue, green, salmon-pink) and sunset (blue, lavender).

Friday, January 10, 2003

Perhaps a bit less cold today. Biting wind though. Rain fell and melted the snow.

Thursday, January 09, 2003

Cold and utterly clear, without a cloud all day. Snow still there, with blue shadows. At sunset continuous shade from dark blue to rose pink, with all the yellows and yellow-oranges in between.

Wednesday, January 08, 2003

More snow overnight and this morning. Colder than yesterday if anything.

Tuesday, January 07, 2003

Woke up to find it very cold, and snow on the ground, perhaps ½".
