Quite windy, mostly dry, with fast-moving dark grey stratocumulus. Cold in the morning but turned milder and damper
later.
At sunset, beautiful violet light, from a strip of clear sky right at the horizon, shone up under the clouds and
illuminated the underside of the canopy.
Have been thinking - what if the sky is a vast, ever-changing message which we
unconsciously read: like when you see a word without consciously noticing the letter shapes, the picture is clear, we see the elements, but the meaning goes into our subconscious.

Very dark clouds rolled up about 4.50pm and it began to absolutely piss down as I walked home. Glad I started keeping that spare brolly in the office. Actually I still got soaked from the knees down, it was raining so hard, but it makes a big difference when your head's dry. Once I'd got going, it was very pleasant to walk through the rain, see the gutters in full spate and huge puddles everywhere.

Weather so flawless today that I abandoned all thoughts of Ikea and went to Felixstowe. Hot, utterly cloudless, strong sea breeze. Quite lovely.
Home via Stoke by Nayland. Countryside as lovely as the seaside, with rustling wheat fields, dappled shadows etc.
Now a bright full Moon riding above the quiet town. Kind of benevolent. Chimes with the Luna Lovegood style dreamy goodwill
I've been feeling since Saturday.

Flawless weather, hardly a speck of cloud in the intensely blue sky all day. Sun shining very powerfully - I took coffee on the doorstep, and my arm was starting to burn by the time I'd finished drinking it.
Sunset so clear, nothing to describe except the gradation of colour in the sky, orange to yellow to greenish to dark blue to black. Capella shining in North about 11pm, a reminder that, although Summer is in its youthful prime, the year does keep on turning.

Absolutely gorgeous weather - sun beating down all day from a deep blue sky. Clouds got fewer and fewer, till by the evening there were just a few very thin red strips of cloud against a sky like a deep pool of clear water.
In the evening gazed at yellow full moon above the opposite side of the river valley, shining down on the quiet town. Perfect
end to a perfect day.

Was sitting in the library at lunchtime, facing a vast view to the West. Dark clouds and darker pannus hurrying below them above the pylons and factories. It started raining - the rain advanced towards me so successive folds of the landscape faded behind silver curtains. When it reached campus a young woman ran for cover with girlish abandon. Her soberer friend dashed under a convenient tree and put up her umbrella.

Gorgeous weather. Had to take my jacket off when I'd only got as far as Tescos. Usually I'm in Limes Road before that happens. At lunchtime sat under the oak tree again and just chilled out, watching the leaves on the trees round the lake wave in the breeze.
Beautiful evening too, with round yellow moon.

Rather cool, grey day at first, with showers, but cleared up for a sunny afternoon
and evening.
Moved all my net curtains to half the height of the window, so I can see the sky and distance and still not be seen from outside unless I go right up to the window. Amazing difference. Sky views are important to me, it seems.

Very cold night, about an inch of snow. Roads covered in ice. Decided to walk to work. Good idea - on way saw cars sliding and skidding and getting stuck on hills. Everyone had a tale to tell when they eventually arrived.
Found myself very tired when I got home, what with the cold and clomping round all day in big boots.
My fave R5 presenter, Peter Allen, was one of the people who got stuck on the way home last night. He was phoning reports
in to the station. When Drive started again at 4pm, he was doing it from Cambridgeshire, where he still was.

Very cold. Heavy snow in the morning and at lunchtime and in the evening, but tending to melt each time. Did however manage to recreate the childish wonder of standing by the window and looking up, seeing the white sky with the snowflakes coming down dark against it. Like bees, I thought that snowy morning in 1975.

Much colder - more squally rain and a strong, very cold North wind. Cleared later.
Hurrying home from meeting at 9.30pm, Sirius and ?Jupiter very bright in the clear dry air. There's something about very cold, windy, dry nights that gets me excited - reminds me of the 'dawn of time'. I have such happy recollections of this
period (1973 to 1975).

Sort of damp and cold and bright. Saw a protest against war on Iraq by the war memorial. It's odd how I was in favour of the 1991 war (till they massacred all those people fleeing back to Baghdad), but have been dead against this one ever since it became apparent that Bush was
going to use the World Trade Centre attacks as an excuse for it. Bastard.
Anyway, got soaked in freezing cold rain but did see a beautiful bright, low double rainbow behind the protestors.
