Louise Dunstaple's birthday - same day of the week as 1857 too. Lovely day, less cloud than yesterday (yesterday we had the 'arbutus' September weather that I remember from the demountables in 1979).

Lovely weather, real Indian summer, not too hot. A bit like the picnic in the botanical gardens in Siege of Krishnapur, which I'm currently re-reading.

I'd bought bacon yesterday expecting a cold day on which to enjoy bacon and baked beans, so I had that for brunch before the day got too hot.
