In town enjoyed the windy grey Saturday afternoon feeling. There's nothing like a Saturday afternoon when the evening's arranged.

Fairly standard sort of day, but the weather was interesting - strong North wind, heavy showers, huge cumulus and sun.

It rained in the morning, read the Sunday papers. After dinner drove to Tollesbury, which is at the edge of the salt-marshes north-east of Maldon. Walked about a mile along the sea-wall, saw the sea and a ship on it. The weather brightened up a bit too, so I felt better.
