Lot of noise in the hotel. Got off to sleep at 3am to the sound of rain.

Beautiful weather, but as I raced eastwards it deteriorated, getting hazy, then dull, then cold, then raining.
My theory that I'd caught up with the night's rain was confirmed by the way that when I reached Colchester at 10.30 it was raining, and then the sequence reversed till about 3pm we had the weather I'd left at Cobham at 8.30.

Another very showery day. One of the showers started about 1.55, so got rained on a bit coming back from lunch.

Showery day - fine at first. Talked to E at work; he has a proper appreciation of clouds, he waxed quite lyrical about one huge, hard-edged shower cloud I pointed out.

On the way home got caught in one of the showers: first got soaked, then battered with hail. But then the weather relented and the sun came out to warm me.
