Beautiful weather, so decided to go to Felixstowe. Positively idyllic, with lovely herbal scent from cliff gardens, sparkling sea and just the right strength breeze.

But there was a bonfirey, autumn smell inland, and the tiniest touch of autumn in the evening air outside afterwards.

Wonderful weather, cloudless and hot but with a strong breeze. Staff picnic rather good fun - a couple of women going round with trays of strawberries. A bit like a Breughel painting, or something from Thomas Hardy.
