NEW YEAR'S DAY. Max temp yesterday was 1°C, hasn't been over 4°C for days, so house has got very cold.

There's a sort of cold clarity about New Year's Day that I like. That's particularly surprising considering I usually have a more or less bad headache to start the day with. Took Christmas decorations down, for the last time here I hope. I won't be putting them back in the loft - they'll go into storage.
