Spot-on weather forecast today: bright start with wind and thin cirrus. Went to Felixstowe and walked North up the prom in warm sunshine appreciating the large waves. As I came back down the wind increased and it got greyer and the waves got bigger. I had parked near South Point and as I neared the point I was wondering if it was quite safe to continue. When I got to the point and turned back, I found it was difficult to walk against the wind, so it was lucky I only had about 400 yards to go back to the car.

Later in the afternoon the wind really got up and it began to rain heavily - for about 8 hours so far. Unusual to get lots of rain on an East wind here.

All this was perfectly according to the weather forecast. And I was pleased I timed my visit to Felixstowe so well, with one half in sunny seaside weather and one half in interesting stormy weather.
