4th. Dismal weather in the morning, dark and raining hard with strong, freezing North wind.

11th. Rained heavily all day, still raining at bedtime.

12th. Cold (very cold) but not raining at morning prayer. It started raining again late in the afternoon.

13th. Miserable weather, very cold with heavy rain.

20th. Walked home in the rain.

28th. Miserable grey rainy weather, but had an excellent day. In the evening grey, but raining in large occasional drops, and seeming like summer with everything so green.
