Abominably cold again, with rain in the afternoon.
Monday, January 29, 2001
Very cold indeed all day.
Sunday, January 28, 2001
Excellent weather - cold & clear.
Saturday, January 27, 2001
To Frinton. Rather cold with stiff onshore breeze, sea rather beautiful, silver
in fact.
Friday, January 26, 2001
Got soaked walking home, nice to get in and get dried and warmed up.
Thursday, January 25, 2001
Sky quite light when I was walking home - very encouraging as I would love to be out of the 'perpetual night' thing one
gets during the week Nov-Jan.
Wednesday, January 24, 2001
Bright, sunny day - not too cold either. Big improvement.
Tuesday, January 23, 2001
Didn't half rain in the evening. Find the sound of rain on a roof (when I'm inside) very comforting.
Monday, January 22, 2001
Wet, dismal morning.
Sunday, January 21, 2001
Very wet - rain almost all day.
Saturday, January 20, 2001
Very cold, foggy, grey, yesterday's snow still lying, and outlining the trees in white. Thick fog in the evening.
Friday, January 19, 2001
Cold again but grey: began to snow at lunchtime and came down all afternoon and evening in big flakes. Wonderful view
West about 4pm from the top of the steps: trees black, grass white to grey, distance grey and dim with falling snow.
Thursday, January 18, 2001
Very cold again.
Wednesday, January 17, 2001
Huge round red sun on horizon at 4pm.
Tuesday, January 16, 2001
Very cold and clear. Walking home in the sunset afterglow, I didn't find the sunset depressing because I knew the sun'd come up tomorrow.
Monday, January 15, 2001
At 3.30 rather nice round red sun above the winter fields.
Sunday, January 14, 2001
Another beautiful day - clouded over at 5pm but dramatically, so even that was good.
Saturday, January 13, 2001
Pressure very high at 1042 mb/30.7 in. Certainly a beautiful clear day all day, and a wonderful starry night. Venus,
Jupiter and Saturn all on show - latter close to Hyades and Aldebaran.
Friday, January 12, 2001
Cold and grey, with the same dry East wind straight from Siberia.
