Walked back in a very warm night under a waning gibbous moon.

Woke up to drizzle, but the day ended with a beautiful evening: golden setting sun, wind, clouds.

Hot and sunny since about noon, so should be fine weather till August 24th (!).

Later a clear, starry night, unusual for summer.

A strange day - dark grey clouds, wind but warm air. I don't trust it.

Walked into town to bank the cheque in extreme heat. Spent the afternoon sheltering from the sun.

Came back at 3am, getting lighter all the time, and a left-hand crescent waning moon in the East with the coming loom of dawn.

Saw a shooting star (blue-green incandescent trail) on the way back; wished.

Went up to the off-licence in a still, hazy, humid July evening.

Walked into town in the rain.
